SILVA vs. David Williams

This rarely goes well for me, but… oh well, here we go again. I’m going against SILVA on two occasions on this card. The first one is that I’m picking Tony Ferguson to beat Aaron Riley, and the second one is Nate Diaz over Takanori Gomi. In both cases, I’m making my choices because of information that SILVA doesn’t have.

The big underdog pick of the card

Where I’m not going against SILVA is in picking Matt Hughes to beat Josh Koscheck, despite being about a 4-1 underdog. I happen to think that Koscheck is overrated, a fighter who is a very good wrestler but a very poor striker. I think there’s a very good chance that Hughes is able to defend Koscheck’s takedown and then proceed to out-strike him. If nothing else, I think Hughes has a much better chance of winning than the betting lines indicate.
