UFC Fight Night 26 Predictions Summary

I’m entering this event ranked #23 on the Sherdog pick’em game. Let’s try not to screw it up this time:

ufc fight night 26 predictions

Some quick notes to wrap up a furious day of writing:

-I’m not as confident in a Chael Sonnen victory as FPR is. “Shogun” is an excellent finisher and will get chances to put Sonnen away. With that said I do have to consider Sonnen the favorite in the main event.

-FPR literally has John Howard as a 50.1% favorite to beat Uriah Hall. I’m picking Hall because Howard is fighting up a weight class on short notice. Either way Hall shouldn’t be anywhere close to the 4-1 favorite he’s listed as.

-FPR doesn’t have a long enough track record of success to use it for betting yet… but for posterity, FPR sees value in the following: Chael Sonnen -105, Iuri Alcantara +220, John Howard +355, Joe Lauzon -230 (barely), Mike Pyle +140, Mike Brown -190, Daniel Pineda +240, Manny Gamburyan -120, and Ramsey Nijem -170. Is there really value in nine different fighters on one card? Probably not.

As always, enjoy the (free) fights!

I bet Rua and Alcantara straight. I parlayed McDonald\Lauzon and Overeem\McGregor. All plus money except Rua -110.

I question Sonnen’s motivation. MMA is a lot about heart and toughness and Rua has a lot more of it than Sonnen. Rua by late stoppage.
